Virtual Class

The Challenge
Beale Pottery already had something people loved: the experience of making pottery. The challenge was figuring out how to bring that experience to YouTube. A single-camera recording of someone sitting at a pottery wheel wasn't going to capture the creativity, hands-on nature, and personality that make their classes worth attending.
The Idea
Instead of simply filming a pottery demonstration, we brought the class to the viewer. The idea was to make the process itself the entertainment—letting people see the clay take shape, understand what's happening, and feel like they were sitting at the wheel alongside the artist.
The Execution
We used three camera angles to give the viewer a perspective they couldn't get from standing in the room. Close-ups showed the details of the process while wider angles established the experience and personality of the class. By cutting between perspectives, we turned something that could have felt instructional and static into something dynamic and genuinely fun to watch.
The Result
Beale Pottery walked away with a YouTube-ready piece that does more than explain pottery—it makes people want to experience it. The video gives potential students a glimpse into the process, shares the love of pottery with a wider audience, and gives Beale a foundation for continuing to build their presence beyond the walls of their studio.
