The Challenge
There are people doing remarkable things in our communities who rarely get recognized for them. They aren't necessarily looking for attention, and they're certainly not looking for a marketing opportunity. They’re simply showing up, serving their neighbors, and making their communities better. The challenge was finding a way to give those people a spotlight without turning their stories into advertisements.
The Idea
Joy to the World started with a simple idea: what if we used video to celebrate the people who make our community better? I pitched the podcast to Joy because she embodies that idea herself. As a business owner involved in Rotary, Meals on Wheels, and countless other community efforts, she understands what it means to invest in the people around you. Together, we created a show built around conversations with people doing good things in our community.
The Execution
There are no appearance fees. No sales pitch. No asking guests to buy anything. We simply sit down with people, hear their stories, and give them a platform to talk about the work they're doing. The production is intentionally conversational and authentic—the kind of conversation you'd have if you genuinely wanted to know why someone cares so much about their community.
The Result
Joy to the World became a way to give back through the thing we know how to do: tell stories. Each episode shines a light on someone making a difference and gives the community another reason to be proud of where they live. It's also a reminder that video production doesn't always have to be about selling something. Sometimes, the story itself is the thing worth giving away.
